Acrylics on canvas. Finished with a professional satin varnish.
"Eye of the Earth" is a captivating piece of abstract artwork that evokes a profound sense of connection with nature, in particular water. At its core, the artwork features a central motif resembling an eye, symbolizing perception, insight, and awareness. This eye serves as a focal point, drawing viewers into the depths of the artwork's intricate composition.
Through flowing layers of color and movement, the piece captures the rhythm of the natural world — fluid, powerful, and ever-changing. The composition draws the viewer in, much like water draws light, encouraging contemplation and calm.
The artwork was inspired by the Greek talisman against the evil eye, a symbol deeply rooted in Greek culture and often seen in jewelry, clothing, and souvenirs. Traditionally believed to ward off negative energy, the talisman has become both a cultural icon and a symbol of protection. Perhaps this painting will bring a touch of those “protective powers” to its new home too — even if I don’t truly believe in them, I love the thought of it.
The original artwork can be viewed in person at the American Chiropractic Haus in Munich-Bogenhausen. Please reach out to the artist if you wish to arrage a private viewing.
